Welcome to the site of the Department of Design and Creative Media at Letterkenny Institute of Technology. The site is designed and maintained by department staff, and is intended to showcase our students work and our courses. We currently offer courses to Honours Degree level in Graphic Design, Digital Media and Product Design. We also have an add-on one year taught Masters in Motion Graphics. Letterkenny Institute of Technology is a third level educational institution based in Co Donegal in the Northwest of Ireland. While we make full use of leading edge technology, our emphasis is on the creative aspects of design. Our students learn about diverse subjects such as typography, visual communication and media, ergonomics, photography, animation, video, audio, 3d modelling and illustration. These classes are of a hands-on practical nature. Theory is delivered in each of the modules and underpinned more formally with studies in Design Theory and Business Studies.
The courses provide our graduates with both the practical and theoretical skills to gain high level employment in the design industry. More specific information can be found in the FAQ section, and on the main Institute site.

BA in Graphic Design: 3 years full time study
BA in Digital Media: 3 years full time study
BA in Product Design: 3 years full time study
BA (hons) in Graphic Design:
1 year add-on upon completion of BA in Graphic Design or equivalent
BA (Hons) in Digital Media:
1 year add-on upon completion of BA in Digital Media or equivalent
MA in Motion graphics:
1 year add-on upon completion of BA (Hons) in Graphic Design, Digital Media or equivalent.
RIP - Richard Livingstone
It is with deep sadness that we mark the passing of one of our longest serving lecturers and friend, Richard Livingstone. A successful fine artist and printmaker outside of his academic career, his creativity and trademark cheeky sense of humour will be sorely missed by all.
Richard is survived by his wife Siobhan and his son Paul and daughter Niamh. Our thoughts are with them at this time.
